Spending on travel rebounds in August as agents make hay while the sun shines

Consumer spending on travel went up in August for the first time since February while agents recorded their third successive month of year-on-year spending growth as the travel industry made hay while the sun shined this summer.

Agents have enjoyed a strong summer, recording three consecutive months of year-on-year spending increases

Several weeks of unseasonably warm summer weather didn't stop consumers from splashing the cash on travel in August, with the sector returning to growth for the first time since the start of the war in Iran in late-February.
