Avinou will join the tour operator in August following his successful career as owner and Director of Barrhead Travel Falkirk where, according to the operator, he built a "reputation for delivering exceptional results while maintaining a strong focus on customer service".

His appointment comes after a standout period for Barrhead Travel Falkirk, which was recognised as Jet2holidays' Top Selling Agent for 2025 and named the company's Independent Travel Agent of the Year. 

The Falkirk branch achieved the accolade after demonstrating strong sales performance, "innovative marketing activity" and a commitment to "working closely with Jet2holidays' trade team to maximise opportunities".

In his new role, Avinou will work closely with agents and agency partners across Scotland and Cumbria, supporting them in growing their Jet2holidays sales and strengthening the company's partnership approach with the trade.

Avinou's appointment follows the departure of Aileen Rutherford, who joined the company in 2022 and made a "significant contribution" to the success and development of Jet2holidays' trade team.
