An agent of more than 40 years has pledged £10,000 to help the next generation of travel talent get a foothold in the industry.

Wardle Travel is putting up a bursary to fund travel arrangements for budding travel and tourism students keen to attend the annual ITT conference.

The agency was founded in 1984 by Doug Wardle, his wife Ruth and son Chris, who all attended a recent ITT Leadership Dinner to formally hand over the donation to ITT chair Steven Freudmann.

Doug, 91, and Ruth, a former headteacher, have been married for 68 years and are ITT conference regulars, with Doug known for having the last word in many a debate.
