How is Egyptair expanding its fleet?
Egyptair is shaping the future of Egyptian aviation by expanding and modernising its fleet, reducing its carbon footprint, bolstering the Egyptian economy and enhancing the passenger experience to meet evolving traveller expectations while contributing meaningfully to a more sustainable global aviation industry.
Egyptair will increase its fleet to 97 aircraft by 2029, improving flight options and network connectivity. Additionally, new aircraft will begin to be delivered in December of this year and the move to significantly expand is part of a wider strategy for Egypt to become a major aviation hub, connecting Africa, the Middle East, and Europe – making it a natural gateway for global travel. Egypt's Vision 2030 to achieve sustainable development, as the civil aviation sector is a key pillar in strengthening the national economy and attracting more tourism.
Its new fleet will comprise 16 new Airbus 350-900s paving the way for expanding the airline’s long-haul network while preserving the environment through a reduced carbon footprint and offering a premium travel experience to its passengers. This is in addition to adding 18 new Boeing 737MAX8s to the fleet within the next three years.

Egyptair is building its fleet to welcome guests in line with their preferences, blending its rich heritage with modern onboard innovation. The A350-900's configuration will be 340 seats (30 flat business class seats and 310 relaxing economy class seats). These will be equipped with the latest in-flight entertainment Panasonic Astrova system, which features a high-quality 4K OLED display with high-fidelity spatial audio and high-speed USB-C power delivery for charging laptops and other devices. Key features include the ability to connect personal Bluetooth headphones and use a multi-screen environment by connecting personal devices.
