The line said "next-generation new-build" Atlas Adventure, its first Atlas-class ship, would launch in late 2028 accommodating up to 400 guests with a crew of 275, while introducing "a significantly expanded onboard experience".
Adventure will feature dual-fuel hybrid propulsion, nine-megawatt marine battery system, three carbon masts and solid sails. This, Atlas claims, will enable silent, zero-emission cruising when sea and wind conditions permit.
It will also be equipped with zero-speed fin stabilisers, two vertical fin stabilisers and a reinforced hull, and will meet ice-class 1B (polar category C) standards, ensuring it is "purpose-built" for global exploration.
Destinations will span Asia, including Japan, South Korea, China, Vietnam, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand and the Philippines, and Africa, including the Seychelles, Madagascar, Tanzania, Kenya, Mozambique and South Africa.
Atlas Adventure will feature all-suite accommodation across every category, a broader range of dining, wellness and social offerings, including seven dining venues and a new culinary studio for masterclasses and destination-inspired learning, as well as five lounges and cocktail bars and two outdoor bars.
There will also be an expanded fitness and wellness centre, and a large swimming pool, while purpose-built expedition capabilities include a fleet of zodiacs and luxury motorboats for water-based exploration. There will also be a marina platform with ocean pool.
'Amazing new chapter'
Atlas described Adventure and the new class it introduces as a "natural evolution" of its expedition fleet. Additional details, including suite designs, onboard experiences, dining concepts and day-to-day concepts will follow in the coming weeks.
“This is an amazing new chapter in the Atlas Ocean Voyages story, taking luxury yachting expeditions to a whole new level," said Atlas's international sales director Bernie Carter.
"We have already experienced strong demand in the UK for our World-class yachts Navigator, Traveller and Voyager and I am confident Atlas Adventurer will herald a new era of growth, understanding and appreciation of the Atlas Ocean Voyages brand within the UK market."
Adventurer's launch will be supported by early booking offers, including up to 15% bonus savings and air credits of up to £1,200 on select voyages.
James A Rodriguez, president and chief executive of Atlas Ocean Voyages, said: "This new Atlas-class sailing yacht represents the next step in our growth. It allows us to expand our destination footprint into regions our guests have been asking us for, while further solidifying Atlas's position within the luxury expedition cruise category."
Mario Ferreira, founder, chair and owner of Atlas's parent company Mystic Invest Holding, added: "With Atlas Adventurer, we are introducing a new generation of luxury expedition sailing yachts. This vessel serves as a bridge between the wind mastery of the 15th century and the solid sails and electric propulsion of the 21st century.
"The yacht is designed to comply with future zero-emission port regulations and can navigate silently, allowing access to some of the most exclusive and restricted small ports around the world. Atlas Adventurer represents the next evolution in responsible, highly technological, comfortable, and safe yacht design."
