Highlights of the new onboard programme include destination events which reflect the places Azamara visits; adding more than 150 locally-inspired dishes to its main dining venue menus; introducing new “a fire-side style event” on the pool deck led by one of its 250 destination speakers and 21 beers so passengers can enjoy beverages from destinations they visit.
In addition, the line has increased speciality voyages from six to 22 and will offer 25 new ports in 2025/26 as it looks to deliver “deeper exploration, meaningful connections and a more immersive travel experience” for guests.
It has introduced a new collection of 246 evening and overnight tours throughout the 2025/26 season. Guests can now book immersive experiences up to 18 months in advance.
A series of exclusive experiences called the Curator’s Collection have also been introduced. These experiences are led by locals and offer “unparalleled access to the heart of each destination”, the line said.
David Duff, the line’s UK and EMEA managing director, recently told TTG how Azamara had concerns its brand was “undervalued” in the cruise market and it was doing a “big push” to shout about how proud it is of its product.
"Azamara Cruises is the pioneer cruise line in destination immersion, and we take great pride in being the industry leader and continuing to push the envelope in immersive travel," said Azamara Cruises chief executive Dondra Ritzenthaler.
"[The programme] has been designed to deepen our guests’ connection to the places we visit. With an enhanced culinary programme, increased onboard programming, extended shore excursions, and more, we’re once again delivering richer, more meaningful experiences. We can’t wait for our guests to see what’s in store."
