The online travel agency, which is built around The Cruise Globe app, a free-to-use tracking platform used by more than 156,000 cruisers who wish to track their entire cruise history, expects to be booking more than £1 million in cruise sales per month by September.
It plans to hit £50 million in annual turnover by the end 2027.
However, speaking exclusively to TTG, The Cruise Globe Chief Executive Matt Jones admitted that the agency's launch two months ago had effectively been so successful that its team of seven travel advisors in the UK and a further five in the US had struggled to keep pace with demand.
He said: "We have lost business in the past two months. It's uncomfortable to admit that. We've been working around the clock to keep up but we're really big on service levels.
"There's a sense that if we give the wrong advice it is going to come back on us. We're absolutely not constrained by the number of enquiries we've had, but we're constrained by the number of people that we have in the team at the moment."
Jones revealed The Cruise Globe had received more than 4,000-plus enquiries in the last two months which was far higher than the current sales team could handle.
Jones and fellow Co-Founder Emma Le Teace, also known as Emma Cruises, one of the world's biggest cruise content creators, with more than 430,000 YouTube subscribers, hope to at least double the number of UK-based Sales Advisors by the end of the year, taking the team to 14.
'We would consider sales people without strong cruise knowledge'
"Sales Advisors can earn a great base salary and commission with us," he added. "I've not seen a better package in the industry."
Jones and Le Teace are currently interviewing around 10 applicants a day as they look to scale up the team quickly.
Although they are looking for applicants with at least three years' cruise industry experience, Jones confirmed they would consider people with "broader travel experience or no travel experience at all".
However, he added: "We have to be realistic about the fact that we do not have a training department. We're much more concerned about people's work ethic than their experience.
“Our advisors use smart, AI-powered tools behind the scenes to take care of the busywork, but the job of guiding a client toward their next cruise will always sit with a person.
“We are resolute in our belief that people still want human interaction and a relationship with a trusted advisor when they book their cruises. Our advisors are absolute experts at what they do – we just make them five times more effective with technology.”
