Explora Journeys has announced that its inaugural ship will dock at Port Hercule for Formula 1’s Grand Prix de Monaco, one year after the luxury ocean brand made its debut at the iconic event.
Explora I will be based 150 metres from the Monte Carlo track between 3 June and 8 June 2026, serving as an “exclusive, all-access retreat” for its clients attending the race.
The ship has been widely compared to a luxury yacht, with its 461 suites all offering private terraces and a 1.25:1 guest-to-host ratio ensuring a more intimate service.
It also has six gourmet restaurants, including a Pan-Asian eatery called Sakura and a steakhouse called Marble & Co. Grill, as well as an onboard spa with 11 treatment rooms, a hydrotherapy pool, a Finnish sauna and a steam room.
Explora II hosted its first ever Formula 1-themed cruise in May of this year, partnering with Vanity Fair to host an exclusive party for its 992 guests on the ship’s Sky Bar.
As the only luxurious maritime venue at the event, it provided direct access to the circuit’s Paddock Club and Grandstand Tribunes as well as front-row views of the track from its deck. It also offered guests a curated programme of activities, including meetings with Formula 1 stars like David Coulthard, Sir Jackie Stewart and Mika Hakkinen.
“The Monaco race weekend has become a meaningful and unforgettable chapter in the ever-evolving story of Explora Journeys,” said Anna Nash, president of Explora Journeys.
“To see Explora I poised against such an iconic backdrop is to witness our vision come alive – where the art of travel intertwines with emotional connection and refined living. Our return to the Formula 1 Grand Prix de Monaco in 2026 is not just a celebration – it’s a reaffirmation of our belief that true luxury is found in the richness of experience and the magic of shared moments.”
