Former Regent Seven Seas Cruises president Jason Montague, who recently returned to NCLH in a newly created chief luxury officer role to oversee the Oceania Cruises and Regent Seven Seas brands, is taking on day-to-day oversight.
It’s the first time that no member of the Del Rio family will be involved with Oceania Cruises since it launched more than 20 years ago. Frank’s dad helped found the line in 2003.
In an open letter to Oceania’s trade partners, Montague confirmed Del Rio’s exit, saying: “After many years of dedicated and impactful leadership, Frank A. Del Rio will be stepping down as president.
“Both Frank and his father, our company’s founder, have left an enduring legacy on Oceania Cruises and the broader industry.
“I want to personally thank Frank for his outstanding stewardship of the brand, positioning it for an incredibly bright future, and for assembling an exceptional leadership team. We wish him all the best in his next chapter.”
Addressing agents directly, Montague added: “I am truly excited to be working alongside all of you as we embark on this next chapter in Oceania Cruises’ storied history.
“I’ve never been more passionate about the future of our brand, more confident in our trajectory for success, or more inspired by what we will achieve together.”
In 2023, Del Rio Jnr oversaw the launch of Vista which also served as a tribute for his dad as he retired from NCLH.
Before taking on the Oceania president position, Del Rio had a stint as chief sales and marketing officer at the line. His first job at Oceania was director of destination services.
