To celebrate its 130th anniversary, the expedition line will host 400 agent from across the UK and Europe on a two-night training voyage from Hamburg to German archipelago, Heligoland, between 5-7 May.
HX said the sailing on Fridtjof Nansen, first reported by TTG in May this year, will feature "a fully immersive programme designed to showcase the essence of an HX journey".
The voyage will offer shore landings, wildlife encounters, science sessions, expert presentations, and "culturally-rooted onboard moments that reflect HX’s destination-led approach".
HX will make use of both the main island of Heligoland and the offshore islet of Dune where guests will receive an official certificate if they take a dip in the water.
Guided activities and simulated operational drills will demonstrate how typical landings work in polar regions.
Expert-led nature walks will take participants to the island’s famous bird cliffs and its resident seal colony, while on the main island guests will explore Hummerbuden, along with museums, restaurants and the lively maritime harbour scene.
Heligoland provides "an ideal setting to showcase the core elements that define the HX expedition experience".
“Our 130th birthday year felt like the perfect moment to thank our agents for their ongoing support,” said Mark Walter, sales director, Northern Europe.
“By inviting them on this Heligoland programme, we’re giving them a clear and genuine insight into the way we travel and what truly sets HX apart.”
“Reaching our 130-year milestone in 2026 is an opportunity to strengthen the relationships we already have, while also introducing HX to new partners who share our passion for exploration,” said Nathaniel Sherborne, senior vice-president and MD, EMEA and ANZ and global sales enablement.
“We look forward to welcoming agents from the UK and Europe to experience our approach first hand.”
