Stuart Dales of The Cruise Specialists, part of Barrhead Travel Group, has booked the client and three other guests on a Crystal sailing in 2028 after spending the past 14 years working up a detailed understanding of the client's travel preferences.

"Our relationship has grown through regular check-ins and genuine interest in what they want from their holidays,” Dales told TTG. "This booking came naturally from our ongoing conversations about their future cruise plans. It’s a great example of how staying close to our loyal customers and keeping those meaningful touch points alive can really pay off.”

Dales said that although the client was already familiar with Crystal, they were still “keen to fully understand the itinerary". "We engaged them in further discussion about the ship to ensure it aligned perfectly with what they were looking for,” he explained.

Dales put the “scale and success” of the booking down to the strength of the client relationship and the trust built over more than a decade.

“As a loyal Crystal guest, they already had a deep appreciation for the brand," he continued. "My role was to build on that confidence through clear communication, thoughtful guidance and a seamless booking experience. Ultimately, our trusted relationship led to a booking of this calibre.”

While the booking owed to Dales's long-standing relationship with the client, the booking was also made possible by a relatively recent agency-supplier deal between Barrhead and Crystal.

Russell Adamson, director of The Cruise Specialists, said the sale underscored the potential of the agency’s supplier partnerships. “We are so pleased to have Crystal ‘onboard’ as one of our valued supplier partners,” he said.

“To see such an incredible booking from the get-go is an example of what can be achieved when talented people and exceptional products come together."

Luke Smith, Crystal vice-president of trade sales UK and EMEA, added: “We are absolutely delighted to see this outstanding booking confirmed so soon after signing a contract with the Barrhead Travel Group.

"We look forward to building on this momentum and supporting our trade partners in securing many more exceptional Crystal journeys for their clients."
