A 57-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after another passenger in his 60s died on MSC Virtuosa just a couple of hours after it had departed Southampton.
MSC Cruises had just started a two-day sailing to Bruges when the altercation took place
The victim died around 8.30pm on Saturday (3 May) following an altercation on the 6,334-passenger ship.
Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary confirmed his next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.
A 57-year-old man from Exeter has been arrested on suspicion of murder. A police spokesperson confirmed the man is still in custody.
Virtuosa was two and a half hours into a two-day sailing to Bruges when the altercation occurred.
