Eight years of living in Tenerife have made me a local expert in all things Canaries. With my insider knowledge I love giving my clients tips on the best beaches, hidden restaurants, realistic weather updates and local events.
I pride myself on turning first-time visitors into Tenerife regulars through my knowledge and the relationships I have built with local businesses and my trade partners.
Spring Hotels are one of my top-selling hotel brands in Tenerife and I was thrilled to join them for their amazing annual Fiesta event, a costumed celebration inspired by Ancient Rome and the mystique of the Nile in Egypt.
Hotel visits
Ahead of this tour operator and trade partner party, we were given a guided tour of the Spring Hotels properties. We started the day at Hotel Bitácora, an original Spring property that is pure family fun with a great all-inclusive offering and an UP! roof terrace.
Then we toured the Hotel Vulcano just across the road. The Vulcano has recently been rebranded into an 'urban oasis' for a younger target audience. Highlights for that demographic include the adults-only UP! rooftop and the extended brunch that runs from 08:00 am until 12:00 noon with a DJ – perfect for those who like a lie-in!
We then moved along to the Mediterranean Palace, which is a luxury family hotel with the super cool Club Mare kids club as well as a great fitness centre and spa. This resort has lots of onsite dining options including a street-food market with different food stations, a modern grill restaurant, and an Italian restaurant.
We only toured the Cleopatra Palace briefly, because it will be completely refurbished in 2026. Joanne Robinson, group director of sales, later revealed it will become a five-star plus property, with a Dubai-style aesthetic and some swim-up rooms. There are some really exciting developments ahead and with an impressive collection of six hotels already in place, it was exciting to learn about Spring Hotels’ goal of reaching 10 properties by 2028.
We then took a 10-minute car ride to the adults-only Arona Gran in Los Cristianos, which is an elegant property for a slightly more mature audience as well as sports enthusiasts. It is home to a gold-certificate cycling centre, and also a fabulous UP! roof terrace.
We ate lunch at the Hard Rock Café Tenerife, now part of the Spring Hotels Group. After that we toured our final property, the five-star Sir Anthony, a stunning boutique hotel with just 70 rooms. It has a tranquil and welcoming vibe, and spectacular suites with their own rooftop terrace and plunge pool. I would say it’s perfect for couples with a flair for design.
We finished with cocktails at the Palapa Beach Club, a short walk from the Sir Anthony, Mediterranean Palace and Cleopatra Palace, and right on the seafront overlooking the charming Playa del Camisón. This is a great spot for lunch or sunset drinks, especially for couples or groups of friends.
Viva la fiesta
The costume party at the Cleopatra Palace was the absolute highlight of the trip. From the gladiators to the fireworks, superb food, and spectacular entertainment, it was a night to remember! Everybody was dressed up in elaborate fancy dress to secure the prize for best costume, and there were incredible dancers and singers bringing the history of ancient Rome and Egypt to life.
We danced the night away until the early hours. Everyone looked absolutely incredible in their Roman Empire and Nile-inspired attire. The atmosphere, the music, the costumes… pure magic from start to finish!
Recovery brunch
Next morning, brunch at my favourite Spring Hotel, the Vulcano, was absolutely superb – it’s a true gastronomic experience that perfectly blends the best of breakfast and lunch and is available until 12:00 noon.
From fresh juices to savoury options like the classic British breakfast, show-cooking stations and generous fruit and salad buffets, as well as indulgent sweet treats such as pancakes and even a chocolate fountain, every bite was a delight.
There’s a DJ playing uplifting but relaxed tracks, and guests can enjoy their brunch on the outdoor terrace overlooking the pool and gardens. I would always recommend this brunch to anyone visiting Tenerife who loves great food in a beautiful setting.
Why do I recommend Spring Hotels?
My clients don’t just stay at Spring Hotels, they have an experience. And that’s because of exceptional dining, wellness activities like yoga and pilates, professional sports facilities and top entertainment including the Hard Rock Café and beach clubs. Spring has decades of local experience and is deeply committed to the island, which makes them one of Tenerife’s most trusted and forward-thinking hotel groups. Clients get value for money, prime locations and stand-out concepts, and that makes these hotels unbeatable in my book.
