The decision to extend the service to daily comes less than a year after the route took off, complementing SIA’s existing four-times-daily Heathrow service and five-times-weekly Manchester service.
SIA will operate the route using a 253-seat Airbus A350-900 aircraft featuring three cabins with 42 business seats, 24 premium economy and 187 economy.
Outbound flights (SQ309) will depart Gatwick at 10.15am arriving at 6.20am (+1) with an estimated flight time of 13 hours, five minutes. Returns (SQ312) will depart Singapore at 11.55pm arriving at 6.25am (+1) with a flight time of 13 hours 30 minutes.
The service offers a timely connection via Singapore with Sydney, with a total flight time of 21 hours 30 minutes. SIA offers connections to 127 destinations in 36 countries via its network.
Mohamed Rafi Mar, SIA general manager UK and Ireland, said: “There’s no greater testament to the success of our Gatwick service than the expansion of our schedule within its first year."
