The Tsukiji Fish Market is one of the most iconic marketplaces and a must-visit for food connoisseurs. Join a fourth-generation sushi chef on an early morning guided tour of this vibrant market, learning about fresh fish and vegetables, Japanese knives and tableware, as well as the importance of sustainability. Then enjoy a hands-on sushi-making lesson and a sushi breakfast. The experience is led by chef Yoshinori (Yoshi) Tezuka from Matsunozushi, a long-established sushi restaurant which was the first in Japan to receive a Chain of Custody certification.

Fishing and Tempura Making for Breakfast in Tokyo

Discover the art of tempura through this ultimate farm-to-table gastronomy experience. Rise early and enjoy the view of Tokyo from the waters of the Sumida River while fishing for gobies on a traditional Japanese yakatabune houseboat. With your morning catch, Shogo Yokota, chef and owner of Michelin-starred Ten Yokota, will teach you how to deep fry tempura, using sesame oil with various seafood and vegetables.

Vegetable harvest and vegan cooking in Tokyo

Foodies will relish the chance to immerse themselves in Shojin ryori, the traditional cuisine of Buddhist monks. This tour is ideal for everyone, including vegans and vegetarians, and clients will spend a morning harvesting vegetables at a local farmer’s field, before using them to prepare dishes, under the guidance of Jodo Shinshu Buddhist priest and chef Kakuho Aoe of Ryokusen-ji Temple.
