Seabourn Venture, which embarked on its maiden voyage from Norway to the Arctic in July, features 132 contemporary suites, and at the heart of the ship is the Expedition Lounge with two fireplaces, a glass partition etched with a vintage map, and a full bar with classic wood, leather and wool furnishings.
Next door, a state-of-the-art Discovery Centre is inspired by the landscapes of Antarctica. With 270-degree views, the Constellation Lounge is the ship’s highest indoor viewing point for stargazing and spotting the northern lights. Meanwhile, the Bow Lounge has the closest access to the water, is designed for wildlife watching and resembles a captain’s bridge, with scientific stations and screens to view drone-captured footage.
“We are so proud and delighted with Seabourn Venture and the creative energy and input of Tihany Design,” said Seabourn president Josh Leibowitz. “They have brought forward a vision of creating luxurious interior spaces that reflect the beauty of nature inside and outside the ship by using natural materials, colours and textures. They have established Seabourn Venture as the world’s most beautiful and luxurious expedition ship ever created.”
Seabourn Venture is the first of two new purpose-built ultra-luxury expedition ships for Seabourn that will sail on itineraries including the Arctic, Greenland, Antarctica and the Amazon. Built to PC6 Polar Class standards, it includes a plethora of modern hardware and technology, including two custom-built submersibles, which extend the ship’s global deployment and capabilities.
Expedition activities and excursions including Zodiac cruises, kayaking, nature walks, scuba diving, and snorkelling will be led by an expert 26-person team of scientists, scholars and naturalists.
