The Greek Villas was founded in 2012, and its portfolio consists of more than 500 villas across 34 Greek islands and destinations, with a strong presence in the Cyclades and Ionian islands. A spokesperson said “a whole host of new properties” will launch in 2023.
Le Collectionist’s acquisition of The Greek Villas is part of the specialist’s ongoing strategy of strengthening its offering in new markets, and destinations in which it already operates. In December Le Collectionist announced it had raised €60m of growth funding from investors, led by global venture capital firm Highland Europe, which will be used for further acquisitions to create more than 120 new positions and to open new offices.
Vasilis Pandis, co-founder and managing director of The Greek Villas, said: “We are thrilled to be working with Le Collectionist and to be recognised as the leading villa specialist in Greece when it comes to offering unforgettable and unique holiday experiences for our valued guests. We are excited to see what the future brings and to elevate our offering with more and more breathtaking properties, continuing to provide an exceptional, specialist and bespoke service to all our guests.”
Max Aniort, the co-founder and chief executive of Le Collectionist, added: “Our strategy is driven by our desire to partner with regional leaders to deliver the best experience to our customers by being as local as possible and by leveraging their destination expertise. We are therefore delighted to welcome The Greek Villas to Le Collectionist."
