The brand, founded by chef Nobu Matsuhisa, actor Robert De Niro and film producer Meir Teper, plans to open Nobu Hotel and Restaurant Roma in the heart of the city. 

The project will see the transformation of the Grand Hotel Via Veneto into a Nobu Hotel and Restaurant in collaboration with the hotel’s chairman and chief executive of Carlo Acampora. 

The hotel sits on the city’s famed Via Veneto, close to Villa Borghese, Piazza Barberini, the Trevi Fountain and Piazza di Spagna.

Nobu Hotel Roma will have 122 guest rooms and suites, including 500-square-metre Nobu Suite, a “green” rooftop terrace, indoor and outdoor meeting space, a spa and a club lounge. 

The hotel’s Nobu Restaurant – which will be the chef’s second eatery in the city – will also offer 24-hour in-room dining for guests.

I am very pleased to have opened the doors of the Eternal City to the first Nobu Hotel in Italy,” said Acampora.

The first Nobu Hotel opened in 2013 in Las Vegas and other locations now include Manila, Miami Beach, Malibu, London, Ibiza, Palo Alto, Marbella, Los Cabos, Barcelona, Warsaw and Chicago. 

Further hotels are in development in Marrakech, Riyadh, Atlanta, Toronto, Atlantic City, New Orleans, Sao Paulo, Tel Aviv, Thailand, Hamburg, and Al Khobar.
