🎥 Maajid Nawaz on tackling terrorism and travel as a force for good

LBC broadcaster Maajid Nawaz, who is also the founder of anti-extremist think tank Quilliam, was one of the keynote speakers at the Abta Travel Convention.


Travel is 'crucial' to tackling extremism and broadening people's minds...

His speech focused on “how to build trust in an uncertain world”, as he recalled his own experiences with extremism which ultimately led to his arrest in Egypt in December 2001.


Nawaz told delegates the subsequent response by Amnesty International, who had adopted him as a prisoner of conscience, prompted him to eventually renounce his Islamist past and found Quilliam, along with other former Islamists.
