At least 16 people have been killed in a gun attack on a beach resort in Ivory Coast.
Militants launched the attack yesterday in the resort of Grand Bassam in the south of the country and close to the city of Abidjan.
Four of those killed in the attack were westerners, including a French and a German national.
While officials said the attackers had since been “neutralised”, Al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb has claimed responsibility for the attack.
The country has been involved in a long-running civil war since 2002 fought between the mostly Muslim north and the mainly Christian south.
