Tui Group has welcomed around 600 ex-Thomas Cook staff to job fairs since the collapse of its rival last month.
Tui has held 25 open days across Europe over the past three weeks for its Destination Experiences division, encompassing tours, activities and excursions, to support those impacted by Cook’s demise.
At the events, former Cook staff were given the opportunity to find out more about Tui as an employer and about vacancies.
Annalisa Riches, HR director Tui Destination Experiences, said: “Thomas Cook has many extremely experienced tourism experts who are of course of interest to us.
“We want to grow significantly over the next few years and are therefore looking for excellent specialists, whether in the area of travel reps, childcare experts, or also for digital and technology tasks and management positions.
“If, on the one hand, we could win Thomas Cook employees for us and, on the other hand, protect colleagues from losing their jobs, we could at least have drawn something positive from Thomas Cook’s regrettable insolvency.”
