Abta’s Julie Jones has joined the Association of Bonded Travel Organisers Trust (Abtot).
Jones will be tasked with expanding the Abtot membership and building the association’s reputation throughout the industry.
She brings more than 20 years experience in the travel and aviation industry across various commercial roles, most recently senior member services manager at Abta.
Jones takes up the role of development director with Abtot.
Samantha Bradbury, Abtot membership director, said: “Abtot continues to strengthen both its membership base and the personnel who look after its members.
“Julie will bring a wealth of expertise and experience to a pivotal role within the organisation.
"She is both well-known and well respected in the industry and has been successful in driving Abta membership forward – I am confident she will do the same for Abtot.”
Jones added: “Abtot has been providing a straightforward financial protection solution for niche travel companies for the past 25 years. With new management and new aspirations, it is an exciting time to join.
“As well as continuing to provide competitive one stop financial protection solutions we will be looking to expand our product allowing independent travel organisers to focus on running their travel businesses.”
Abtot currently has 190 members, nearly 40 of whom fulfil their Atol requirements through Abtot.
The association is one of only three BEIS – Department for Business, Energy and Industry Strategy – approved travel trade associations providing financial protection schemes to its members.
