An industry veteran with 11 years’ experience at polar expeditions provider Quark Expeditions, Tanguay will work on driving revenue growth as well as developing AE Expeditions’ sales strategy for emerging markets.

He will collaborate with regional leaders such as North America sales vice-president Lisa Bertini as well as Europe’s managing director Jos Dewing and Asia-Pacific sales director Steve McLaughlin.

“Expedition travel has the power to make a positive impact by creating conservation awareness and giving back to communities,” Tanguay said. “AE Expeditions is a pioneer in this space, and I look forward to working with their talented global team to promote the life-changing experiences they have been offering for over 30 years.”

The global head of sales will be based in Toronto to reflect the importance North America has for AE Expeditions’ future growth plans. 

Tanguay’s appointment was welcomed by chief executive Michael Heath, who said he was looking forward to “leveraging David’s expertise in the expedition space as well as his strategic acumen”.

The news comes at a pivotal moment in AE Expeditions’ history, as the company recently announced it was pursuing B Corp certification.
