Brian and Becky Morgan, from Colchester, flew together for the first time after Becky completed her pilot apprenticeship with the airline, gained her wings, and received her base transfer back to the London airport.
Brian, who has been a first officer for Jet2.com since 2016, recently completed his command upgrade to become a captain.
"It was fantastic to operate a flight with my daughter," Brian said. "We finally had the opportunity to fly together on a full flight from Stansted to Tenerife which was not only a great day out for customers but also a momentous day for us."
He continued: "I’ve always encouraged Becky to follow her passion when it comes to her career. Naturally, when I began my flight training Becky also took an interest, so when she announced she wanted to pursue a career in aviation as a pilot, I was over the moon."
Since completing her apprenticeship, Becky has operated more than 170 flights, flying thousands of holidaymakers to destinations across Europe, the Mediterranean and the Canary Islands.
"When my dad started his flight training, I also took an interest and have fond memories of flying in light aircraft together," she said. "However, I never saw this as something I could actually do as a job.
"I was meant to be going to university but wasn’t 100% certain about what degree to do and the career I wanted to pursue. When discussing my options with my family, they were very supportive of me pursuing this career and gave me the confidence to believe that I could achieve anything I put my mind to."
