The conference will take place from 17-20 November next year in the inland city, which lies around 30 miles north-east of Porto.
The Portuguese National Tourist Office said: “Portugal and Braga were also chosen as the host destination for their accessibility.
“Aito delegates can easily travel to Portugal by plane, train or car. There are regular, two-hour flights from London to Porto every day and Aito promises to offset any carbon footprint emissions for delegates that choose to fly.
“Plus, Porto and Braga are well connected by a regular train service.”
Aito executive director Martyn Sumners added: “Aito is delighted to be holding its 2022 Conference in Portugal.
“Aito has always wanted to explore and promote the lesser well-known cities and regions and by going to Braga and the north of Portugal this is the perfect opportunity to do both in conjunction with our longstanding friends at Visit Portugal.
“For now, however, we are concentrating on the 2021 Conference on 3rd and 4th December, which will held at Hinckley Island in Leicestershire. It promises to be great event with thought provoking sessions focusing on the path forwards.”
