Amber Road has launched a new subscription-based travel platform aimed at small and medium-sized businesses.
The TMC launched Traq at the Business Travel Show in London, which offers SMEs a subscription-based travel booking service priced at a flat fee of £29 per traveller per month. This fee is only paid if the traveller books a trip during the month.
Clive Wratten, Amber Road’s chief executive, said: “We are targeting the SME market – Traq is for companies spending up to £250,000 a year on travel.
“It’s really aimed at start-ups and fintech companies who have never used a TMC before, and might not know the kind of value we can offer.
“It’s a subscription service, so you only pay if you use the service during the month. We’re currently soft-testing and plan to go live from April 1.
“The app will be linked to our booking tools and will feature NDC (New Distribution Capability) content. It also gives them the option of being put through to a person if they want.
“It combines Amber Road’s personalised, professional service with easy-to-access booking and management tools.”
Amber Road is initially working with Virgin Atlantic to offer membership of the airline’s Silver Flying Club to the first 25 customers signing up for Traq membership, as well as a complimentary lounge pass for one person for each new client registering with the new service.
“Our launch partner is Virgin Atlantic, and this is a way of offering a soft benefit because the client may not be able to get a route deal,” added Wratten.
“We’re looking at building a portfolio of partners, including hotels and ground content providers, who can provide special offers for SMEs.”
