Barrhead Travel is preparing to launch a new homeworking division for agents who do not have their own vast client lists.
Chief executive Sharon Munro said the new division would not impact the agency’s traditional homeworking division Brilliant Travel, which has around 30 agents working for it.
Instead, she said it had been designed for those who might not have huge client databases to contact but were keen to work from home.
Leads will be generated by Barrhead as the company sees an increase in call volumes following the success of new marketing technology. These will then be passed on to the new recruits, who will answer and deal with the calls direct.
“We want to recruit a number of homeworkers to become an extension of our call centres,” Munro said.
