Kerry Jones, who joined the Personal Travel Consultants in partnership with Blue Bay Travel (PTCs) last July, will work alongside PTCs sales manager Abbie Heaton to help new starters settle into their roles.

It comes as the group prepares to host a series of recruitment days over 19 June, 21 August and 16 October to meet growing demand for homeworking opportunities in travel.

“As a mentor, Kerry will have the opportunity to inspire and guide new recruits, and help them become valued members of the team,” said Heaton on Tuesday (30 May). “Her experience and knowledge of the travel industry will prove invaluable to those she trains.”

Jones’s appointment comes on the heels of PTCs predicting a surge in enquiries from agents who want to maintain their flexible hours while many travel businesses return to pre-pandemic, office-based working. 

“As many businesses back-track on previous flexible working arrangements, and push to get staff back into the offices and shops, we expect to see an uptick in applications,” Heaton continued. “For many, telecommuting is one of the most important criteria when selecting a role.”
