Details of the trip are set to be released later this year, but the 2017 MegaFam has already seen seven flight places added to the 100 already confirmed by the airlines, which Brand USA said would mean the 2017 Brand USA MegaFam would “be bigger than ever before”.
This year’s MegaFam, which took place last month, saw more than 930 agents make qualifying flight bookings to America between January and April – up 87% from the previous year.
Travel consultants were also required to complete two specialist badges on Brand USA’s agent training site, www.USADiscoveryProgram.co.uk, to confirm their entries.
Christopher L. Thompson, Brand USA president and chief executive, said: “The MegaFam is becoming the most talked about familiarisation trip in the UK and Ireland industry, and working with a large number of states and destinations to create inspiring itineraries generates great value for our participating partners and stakeholders.
“We are grateful to our partners, American Airlines and British Airways, for their continued support and we look forward to working in collaboration with the airlines and our destination partners to educate, engage, and inspire even more agents as ambassadors for the USA.”
