Nearly 200 Luxtripper customers were overseas when the brand failed, with around a further 2,000 booked to travel with the firm on Atol-protected packages, the CAA confirmed to TTG.
Luxtripper said last week it had engaged restructuring specialist ReSolve Advisory to find an investor in, or buyer for, the brand by the end of the week.
On Friday morning (27 October), its website continued to state: "This process will be completed within the coming days, where a buyer will hopefully be found to ensure continuation of the business."
Those customers with flight-inclusive packages will be protected by Atol. However, Luxtripper also sold holidays as an agent for other Atol holders and on an accommodation-only basis.
"Consumers with an Atol certificate showing a different Atol holder’s name in the ‘Who is protecting your trip?’ section should contact that Atol holder for further assistance," said the CAA. "These bookings are their responsibility, and consumers will not be able to submit a claim under the Atol scheme."
The CAA also reiterated bookings sold as accommodation-only and other non-flight packages would not be covered by the Atol scheme.
