The firm, founded with the aim of making responsible travel more accessible, has described its new Travel More Sustainably programme “an evolution of the traditional package holiday”.
The programme features accommodation options that try to reduce their environment impact and activities which benefit the local community.
Charitable Travel will also proactively share advice with customers on how to lower their carbon footprint. Citing the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC), travel and tourism currently contributes to around 8% of global greenhouse gas emissions.
The agency will also donate 5% of each Travel More Sustainably booking to charity.
Four- and seven-night Travel More Sustainably packages to Florida are available to locations including Amelia Island, Daytona, Orlando, Bradenton, Anna Maria Island and St Pete/Clearwater.
Prices for the four-night Daytona Beach package, departing Gatwick on 19 March 2024, start from £1,629pp. Customers can hire an electric vehicle to explore Daytona Beach during their stay.
Seven-night itineraries to the Caribbean include the Bahamas, Saint Lucia, Grenada and Tobago.
Prices for the seven-night The Bahamas package, departing Heathrow on 8 January 2024, start from £2,735pp, while the lead-in price for a seven-night Sustainable St Kitts Holiday departing Gatwick on 5 December 2023 is £3,130pp.
Charitable Travel chief executive Melissa Tilling said: “Our new Travel More Sustainably range demonstrates that it is possible to make sustainable choices when travelling to a wide variety of popular destinations.
“It’s paramount for us to ensure that tourism meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.”
She added: “We fully appreciate that flying across the Atlantic itself is not sustainable but, if choosing to travel, our aim is to make it easy as possible everyone to become a conscious traveller.
“Both these regions have unique eco-systems, and as travellers, it’s our responsibility to tread lightly and ensure they thrive for years to come.
“By hand-picking accommodation, choosing specific travel options and tailoring experiences to be locally owned and operated, holidays can have a positive impact on the destination’s economy and the local people.”
