In her role as godmother, Wikevand will christen the 100-passenger superyacht at a ceremony in Venice on 28 May.
Wikevand said: “I have been working with the incredible Emerald Cruises team for over six years now and I am humbled to have been selected as godmother for the line’s first ocean-going superyacht Emerald Azzurra. It is an honour to work closely with the team on such a monumental milestone for Emerald Cruises.”
Emerald Azzurra, which entered service in March, will be sailing around the Adriatic and Mediterranean coasts this summer before repositioning to Qatar in December.
A sister yacht Emerald Sakara will join the fleet in 2023, with itineraries to the Middle East and Mediterranean already on sale.
Rob Voss, chief operating officer of the Scenic Group, which includes Scenic and Emerald Cruises, added:
“We’re incredibly proud to be showcasing our commitment to supporting UK travel agents by having Sarah as our first Emerald Cruises superyacht’s godmother.
“She is a wonderful advocate for the cruising market and her dedication reflects our own commitment to growing this remarkable industry.”
