Walt Disney World Resort is set to implement a range of new additions to mark 50 years since it first opened.
The celebration will see the introduction of MagicBand+, a range of new food and drink options, the launch of the Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure ride, a new Star Wars themed overnight experience and a Guardians of the Galaxy showcase pavilion.
The 18-month anniversary event began on Friday (1 October), exactly 50 years after the park first launched.
A night time music and light show, named "Harmonious", will take place at EPCOT to open the celebrations. Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure ride also launched on Friday (1 October) in World Showcase.
New daytime entertainment will be on offer at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park, as "Disney KiteTails" gives guests the chance to experience fly windcatchers and kites.
In 2022, Disney will launch "Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind", the first "other-world" showcase pavilion at EPCOT. The attraction starts in a planetarium-like exhibition and then takes guests on the company’s first reverse launch storytelling coaster that rotates 360 degrees.
The inaugural voyage of "Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser" will depart on 1 March, 2022. The experience offers guests a two-night stay onboard the Halcyon starcruiser where they can "see, feel and live Star Wars".
The resort will also rollout MagicBand+, a new way for guests to interact with the park along with the "Hey Disney!" voice assistant in hotel guest rooms.
A 14-night stay at Disney’s All-Star Music Resort starts at £1,574pp.
