From Sunday (27 March), customers and crew will not need to wear masks on most UK domestic services, including Jersey but excluding routes to and from Scotland, as well as flights between the UK and Denmark, Gibraltar, Iceland and Hungary.
The carrier’s policy relaxation follows that of Jet2.com, which became the first major UK airline to ditch its mask requirement on 1 March, and British Airways and Virgin Atlantic on 16 March.
EasyJet said passengers and staff wishing to continue wearing masks “will, of course, have their personal choice respected”.
“We aim to progressively remove the requirement on other international routes as and when both ends of the route has no legal requirement,” the carrier said.
EasyJet added that due to its pan-European operations offering flying between 30 countries, it urged European governments to create “a coordinated approach” on the removal of mask requirements to make travelling “easy and clear for customers”.
“We will aim to provide clear information to customers, including while onboard, detailing the specific mask requirements on their flight,” said the airline.
