Data published by aviation analytics firm Cirium shows that 3,586 flights will depart from UK airports to Turkey this month, a 47% increase on the 2,440 services of July 2019.
As for Greece, figures show there has been a 33% growth over the past four years, with 4,960 services taking off from Britain this summer.
Meanwhile, other destinations – including Malta, France and Italy – have yet to go back to their pre-Covid glory, with flights to Valletta down 22% on 2019 levels, followed by France and Italy with 13% fewer services.
Despite the slump in flights to popular Mediterranean hotspots, July is set to be the busiest month for UK airports in almost four years, with 92,404 services scheduled to depart for a total of more than 16.5 million seats. Up 11% on last year, departures this month are projected to hit 89% of 2019 levels.
