All bookings taken by Explore from Friday (29 October) will include a donation to Rewilding Britain, which supports nature projects across England, Scotland and Wales designed to restore land and marine habitats.
The initiative is part of Explore’s Restore, Protect and Offset strategy, which will see the operator invest around £1 million over the next three years on sustainability projects.
Explore managing director Michael Edwards said: “We are passionate about exploring the world, yet our wanderlust never prevents us appreciating the beauty on our doorstep.
“Right now, the UK is considered one of the most nature-depleted countries, with over half of our species in decline and one-in-seven are heading towards extinction.
“It felt right to begin our journey to protect and restore nature close to home and we are proud to be working in partnership with Rewilding Britain.”
Explore is also backing other sustainability specialists such as Cool Earth, which aims to protect ancient rainforests that store carbon, as well as offsetting emissions through a partnership with ClimateCare.
Rewilding Britain chief executive Rebecca Wrigley said: “We’re here to show that rewilding can work at scale in Britain – it isn’t just an idea, it’s already happening. In places across Britain and the world, rewilding approaches are reviving nature and local communities, in exhilarating ways, and sometimes at astonishing speed.
“We’re thrilled that Explore has chosen to support our work, doing its bit to address the climate emergency and the biodiversity crisis, and sharing a vision of hope for a different future for people and nature."
