The FCDO is urging travellers to keep in touch with their airline or operator in the lead up to their breaks.
"Disruption to flights and onward travel may occur because of possible strike action," said the FCDO in an update issued on Friday afternoon (19 May). "You should consult your airline or tour operator for updates prior to travel."
It comes after Spain’s pilots union Sepla this week hinted at calling nationwide strike action over the Spanish government’s implementation of minimum service levels.
Any such action would impact both Spanish carriers and foreign carriers serving the country, the UK’s most popular holiday destination.
Closer to home, it was confirmed on Friday (19 May) the Home Office was exploring resilience measures to guard against a repeat of last year’s summer travel disruption should industrial action affect the getaway.
