Five finalists in the Avis We Try Harder Customer Service category include agents who’ve come to the rescue of cruise passengers denied boarding, bridal couples at risk of losing their wedding and even a dog in need of a temporary home for three months so his humans could still take their dream holiday.
On the shortlist in the Community Hero category, sponsored by Hurtigruten Expeditions, are agents who have been helping to run charities, writing pantomimes to raise money, and setting up volunteering schemes so that their colleagues can more effectively support local causes.
In a new category for 2023, the Intrepid Sustainable Travel Champion of the Year shortlist includes agencies making a bold commitment to reducing their carbon emissions, agencies planting trees on behalf of clients and even a homeworker who has set up her own conservation charity.
Back for 2023, the Visit Florida Ray of Sunshine finalists include a sales team leader who cooks up brilliant new ways to engage his team, a social media manager whose passion and enthusiasm rubs off on everyone and a marketing executive who keeps the team entertained with his sense of humour.
