Global Travel Group has made six new appointments, including a former DJ who will manage its events.
Mark Darlington, a former Kiss FM breakfast show co-host, joins as the consortium celebrates its 25th anniversary with an extended programme of VIP trips, training initiatives, guest events and its first-ever overseas conference in the US. Darlington, who has also worked as an events manager, joins as business support events executive.
Global has also taken on Kirsty Lilley as learning and development facilitator. Lilley, who joins from AMResorts, will focus on giving new and existing retailers training and help. In addition, Global has recruited three new business support executives – Sally Kay, Abbey Richardson and Anne Clays – along with new graphic designer Laura Mitchell.
Cherie Richards, Global Travel Group commercial director, said: “We have promised members that our 25 Years campaign would be something to shout about, and we’ve already got off to a great start with VIP trips to Lanzarote and Italy and a day-out at Chester Races.”
There are further VIP trips planned, including a Hurtigruten cruise and Antigua visit planned for later in the year, along with dedicated ski and cruise training days.
The landmark year culminates in November with a four-night conference at Universal Orlando Resort in Florida.
