Sherborne rejoins the travel industry from retirement home developer McCarthy Stone, where he spent just over a year as group sales director.
Prior to that, he spent nearly 15 years with Carnival Corporation in a number of roles with P&O Cruises and Cunard, having started his travel career as part of the company’s graduate scheme in 2007.
He became director of trade sales in 2017 before taking the helm of P&O’s sales operations as director of sales and e-commerce in 2020.
Confirming the move via LinkedIn, Sherborne said: "I’m delighted to share that I’m starting a new position as VP, sales and marketing, UK and Nordics, Hurtigruten Expeditions at Hurtigruten Group."
The appointment comes following the announcement of Hurtigruten’s Sea Zero concept, which it said would realise the world’s first zero-emission cruise ship by 2030.
