Tailor-made specialist Typically, which specialises in Italy and Spain, said Lazenby would work closely with managing director Daniele Broccoli in the newly created role.
She brings more than 25 years’ travel industry experience to the role after cutting her teeth at Thomas Cook and Olympic Holidays. She joined Classic in 2001 and held several roles with the business, including strategic business development manager, national account manager and sales manager.
"Gemma will be a great addition to our team, and I look forward to working with her on some new and exciting developments, both in our head office and with our network of travel agents – many of whom will know her well as she worked with them for many years," said Broccoli.
Broccoli said Mariam Sajjad and Tony Byrne would continue in their current roles supporting agents, adding the business was also now looking to expand its reservations and admin teams.
"We are seeing an increase in new agents using our product and services for the first time," added Broccoli. "Our loyal agent base is getting behind us in increasing numbers, which has prompted this expansion of the business."
