Hays Travel has announced the acquisition of Yorkshire-based agency Holiday Travel.
Managing director and founder John Hays said the purchase of the Advantage member had been completed yesterday (March 7) and senior members of Hays’ retail management team had visited the store in Bridlington to meet staff.
The takeover brings the total of retail stores in Hays Travel’s ranks to 146 - with 79 in the north of England.
Hays told TTG all staff would be retained and that he was “excited to welcome them to the Hays family”.
“It’s a very productive, strong branch and we want to continue its success,” he said.
Holiday Travel was founded in 1974 and Hays said he believed the store’s rebranding would take place in the next few weeks.
He added that Hays would “definitely” be looking to strengthen its store network further both through new sites and the acquisitions of “quality retailers”.
