Thomas Cook made her the face of "short stays" as fellow travel brands and industry professionals found other amusing ways to share the news.
Cook took to its Facebook page, offering new "short stays from £159pp", with a photo of the former prime minister wheeling a suitcase away from No. 10 Downing Street.
Elsewhere, Ryanair shared an image of a boarding pass for "passenger Liz Truss", flying from Gatwick airport to "anywhere".
The carrier also posted a photoshopped picture of Truss onboard an aircraft listening to a Taylor Swift song with the caption: "a swift exit. Liz at midnight", in a gentle nod towards the South West Norfolk MP’s self-proclaimed admiration of the American artist.

Managing director EMEA for G Adventures Brian Young and industry veterans Andy Freeth and Derek Jones threw their names into the hat to become the country’s next leader, each sharing an image or video of themselves outside the office of the prime minister.
It comes after Truss stepped down from the role just 44 days after taking the mantle, causing the industry to urge for "some political stability" moving forward.
