Former Tui IT chief Craig Randell has joined Inghams and Explore parent Hotelplan UK tasked with leading the group’s brands digital transformation.
Randell took up a newly created group director of IT role earlier this month, working across Hotelplan UK’s Inghams, Explore, Santa’s Lapland, Inntravel and Esprit Ski brands.
He brings 25 years’ industry experience to the role, including having run Tui’s IT for its UK and northern Europe region. He has also joined the Hotelplan UK board.
Hotelplan said Randell’s experience would be "crucial" as the group and its brands build closer working relationships and progress "various digital transformation projects".
Randell said he excited to work across a range of "diverse" travel brands.
"Helping businesses drive forward their vision for digitalisation and effective use of automation is my passion," he said. "I can’t wait to work with the teams to bring about more dynamic and integrated systems."
In his role as group director of IT, Randell will ensure the Hotelplan brands are supported by an "agile, cloud-based" digital platform.
Hotelplan said "Leading the digital transformation" of its brands would be Randell’s "top priority".
Chief executive of Hotelplan UK, Joe Ponte, added: "His enormous wealth of experience will be a huge asset to the group as we plan to make big strides forward in digital transformation right across the business, and impacting all of our brands."
