Japan will end all Covid restrictions for international travellers early next month.
From 8 May, Covid will be classed as a common disease and it will no longer be necessary to prove three vaccinations or take a test 72 hours prior to departure.
Japan has had some of the most stringent Covid restrictions in the world since their introduction in February 2020. It only began easing them in March 2022, when a limited number of international visitors were permitted.
The UK FCDO said that until the rules change, UK visitors will still need to show valid certification.
It added: “For arrivals who are triple-vaccinated, there is no longer a requirement to have a Covid-19 test before you fly.”
