Jet2holidays has suspended the remainder of its summer 2020 holiday programme to the Algarve region of Portugal.
All Jet2holidays trips due to depart up to and including 31 October have been cancelled, the operator confirmed on Friday (18 September).
It comes after mainland Portugal was removed from England’s quarantine-free travel corridor list last Saturday (12 September).
Jet2 initially suspended Algarve trips until 26 September, but has now pulled the rest of the summer 2020 programme.
Its Madeira package holiday programme will continue as planned owing to the island being granted a regional travel corridor, and an exemption from the Foreign Office’s global no-travel advisory.
In a message to agents, Jet2 said: “Jet2holidays have taken the decision to extend the suspension of our holidays programme to the Algarve (Faro) due to the continued Covid-19 pandemic.
“All holidays departing up to and including 31 October 2020 will automatically be cancelled with a full refund, and you will be issued with a cancellation invoice. No action is required by the travel agent.”
The operator added: “Customers in-resort can continue to enjoy their holidays and we will be in touch regarding flights back to the UK.”
