The service, which allows guests to check in their bags at their hotel on their day of departure, will launch in Costa de Algeria, Girona (Costa Brava), Faro (Algarve) and Madeira in time for the summer 2019 season.

It means the service is now available to Jet2 holidaymakers in more than 300 hotels across 13 destinations.

These include four destinations on the Spanish mainland as well as all its destinations in Portugal. The service is already live across the Canary Islands and in Cyprus.

Guests can simply drop their bags off securely with Jet2’s team in the hotel, which then transport them to the airport and ensure they are stowed on the aircraft.

This allows guests to enjoy their final day in resort without being burdened by their luggage - and allows them to transfer through their return airport more quickly.

Steve Heapy, Jet2.com and Jet2holidays chief executive, said: “Jet2holidays customers love the simplicity and ease of our market leading service, and are continually telling us what a difference this smart, secure service makes to their overall holiday experience.

“The popularity of the service means we are delighted to be expanding it yet again, meaning customers in 13 destinations can now extend their valuable holiday time, be luggage-free, and breeze through the airport before their flight home.”

The service is now available in Costa Blanca, Costa del Sol, Costa de Almeria, Girona (Costa Brava), Majorca, Tenerife, Gran Canaria, Lanzarote, Fuerteventura, Faro (Algarve), Madeira, and Cyprus (Larnaca and Paphos).
