Flights are now on sale for departures until 31 October 2022. JetBlue was initially given temporary permission to fly from Heathrow while other carriers reduced services during the pandemic. Its daily slot has now been granted until next autumn.
Robin Hayes, JetBlue chief executive, said the response to the new flights had been “overwhelmingly positive”: “We are committed to collaborating with regulators as well as the US and UK governments to identify a pathway to staying at Heathrow for the long term,” he said.
“There’s so much more good we can do as we grow this route if we are allowed to stay and compete.”
JetBlue began UK flights in August; its Heathrow departure will remain at 14.00, with the inbound flight leaving at 21.38.
It added: “In addition to JetBlue’s extended 2022 schedule at Heathrow, the airline will continue to operate its daily service between New York-JFK and London Gatwick airport and remains committed to launching service between Boston Logan International airport and London in summer 2022.”
