Kuoni chief Derek Jones and his colleagues initially aimed to of raise £7,500 for the charity.

Due to adverse weather conditions with heavy rain and winds, the team managed to trek two thirds of the way up before they had to turn back for safety reasons.

Jones said the support the team has had from the industry has been "phenomenal".  

"The pandemic has put a huge strain on the mental health of our friends, family and colleagues," he added. 

"We wanted to do something extraordinary to support Mind, which has been our charity partner for the past 18 months. I could not be prouder of the team."

He further thanked those who have donated and supported the group and said the messages of encouragement "helped to propel us along".
