Kuoni has revealed its top trending destinations for 2020.
Basing the forecast on hotel bookings, new flight route launches and planned tourism infrastructure investment, the luxury operator has singled out 10 destinations it believes will be most popular next year.
These include India, for travellers looking to go beyond the Golden Triangle; Zimbabwe, back after years of political uncertainty; and the US, now with direct flights to Charleston and Portland.
The Indian Ocean has been included because there are 16 new hotel openings across the region, alongside Greece, which has a growing luxury offering, and Colombia, where Kuoni is offering a new escorted tour.
Olympic fervour continues in Japan, there are new hotels opening in the Caribbean, and Canada has seen growing tourism numbers.
Italy, which has been a holiday staple for many years, is also included in the Kuoni list.
The analysers at Kuoni said a theme for next year was exploring beyond the well-beaten track.
